## Marketplace Apps

Marketplace Apps are web applications that are embedded into Assembly via an iFrame and receive authentication information about the current user. Unlike [Custom Apps](https://docs.copilot.app/docs/custom-apps-overview) which are private, Marketplace Apps are public. This means that they are [listed in our App Store](https://www.copilot.app/apps/directory) and are available for any business to install.

The best way to build a successful Marketplace App is to first build a Custom App that some users are really happy with. After that, [only a small set of modifications are required](https://docs.copilot.app/docs/marketplace-apps-developing-a-marketplace-app) to turn your Custom App into a Marketplace App.
